In order to put on all the events we do and get the word out to youth we work with, we require a lot of help!
Consider getting involved in one of the following ways:
Communications and outreach
This includes things like social media management, graphic design, posters, and tabling.
Event planning
Scheduling, booking rooms/transportation/sports fields/camp sites, route planning, purchasing or renting equipment, and providing information to the Communications and Outreach Team.
Event hosting
Equipment pickup, event set-up, going over club guidelines and rules, ensuring participation waiver signups, hosting events (e.g. leading the hike, organizing the game).
Specifically, we especially need more assistance organizing:
Hiking
Camping
Pick-up sports (including road hockey, soccer, dodgeball, softball, ultimate frisbee, capture the flag)
Health awareness (including stress reduction, healthy eating, etc.)
Climate justice (leading eco grief/climate anxiety workshops)
Yoga/indoor fitness

Outreach Coordinator
Job Description
The Outreach Coordinator will help oversee all aspects of the Active U's communications. Responsibilities include overseeing the creation of all of our communications materials for our diverse stakeholders including program participants, community members, partners, donors, policy makers, educators, the general public and more. The Outreach Coordinator will take responsibility for assuring that brand standards and guidelines are maintained, that the organization's website and social media channels are fresh and up-to-date, and engagement with the press.
Role and Responsibilities
Coordinate the production of communication materials - social media (Instagram, Linkedin, Facebook, TikTok), electronic newsletters, website text, videos, photos, print materials (posters, leaflets, brochures, signage, event materials), Canva Pro templates, media releases, correspondence, presentations, etc.
Write and/or design (or working with a Copywriter and/or Graphic Designer) communication materials
Maintain brand standards and enforce style guidelines in all communications mediums
Oversee the distribution of marketing materials including electronic newsletters, posters, brochures, event signage, etc.
Document events with videos, photography and social media posts.
Coordinating community engagement and outreach activities, including booth management, booking, training and scheduling
Assist in the development and implementation of communication strategies, materials and tools to build awareness of the Organization and our programs
Garner press and publicity for the Organization, its people, events and initiatives, through sending out press releases, submitting stories to press outlets, and soliciting journalists, freelance journalists and student writers to write about the Organization, its people, events and projects
Ensure the Organization’s website is up-to-date, and all links are working
Create, execute, monitor and evaluate social marketing campaigns
Routinely monitor the Organization’s engagement (web, social media, electronic newsletter) and online presence on relevant online communities and websites
Liaise and collaborate with others as necessary to support their communication needs
Coordinate the Organization’s speaking engagements and media appearances
Role and Responsibilities

Represent the Organization in a professional and congenial manner in person, in online meetings, in telephone conversations, and in written correspondence
Delegation or sharing of duties with others as necessary

Camping Trip Coordinator
Job Description:
As a Camping Trip Coordinator, you will be responsible for organizing all aspects of camping excursions, ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and memorable experience for participants. You will oversee logistics, activities, and accommodations to create unforgettable outdoor adventures.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Develop comprehensive trip plans for camping excursions, including destination selection, itinerary creation, and activity scheduling.
Coordinate transportation, campground reservations, equipment rentals, and other logistical arrangements necessary for the trip. Ensure all permits, licenses, and paperwork are obtained and up-to-date.
Implement safety protocols and risk management procedures to minimize hazards and ensure participant safety during the camping trip.
Procure and organize camping gear, supplies, and provisions required for the trip, including tents, sleeping bags, cooking equipment, food, and water.
Plan and organize recreational activities and group outings, such as hiking, fishing, boating, wildlife watching, and campfire gatherings.
Promote responsible camping practices and environmental stewardship among participants, emphasizing Leave No Trace principles and conservation ethics. Educate participants about local flora, fauna, and ecosystems.
Communicate effectively with participants before, during, and after the camping trip to provide information, answer questions, and address concerns.
Develop trip budgets and cost estimates, and monitor expenses to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
Maintain accurate records of trip details, expenses, participant information, and feedback. Evaluate trip outcomes and gather participant feedback to identify areas for improvement and enhance future trips.
